1) With parents or other grown-ups go on four rambles. Make short illustrated notes of these to include when and where you went, how far, and any interesting things you noticed.
2) Take to the test your pack for emergencies. Show the tester that you have suitable clothing and footwear for rambling.
3) Know the Green Cross Code, Country Code and Highway Code for pedestrians.
4) Go with the tester for a short ramble on a route agreed between you. Be prepared to point out interesting things on the way and show that you are putting clause 2 and 3 into practice.
Note: you are to be tested on your own and not with other Brownies.

2019 (July) Brownie Badge Finder - Out and About Badge
1. Show how to dress for walking and rambling. Pack a bag or daysack.
2. With an adult you know, go for a walk lasting at least 30 minutes and show:
- how to use a simple map of the area.
- how to set a map using landmarks.
- that you understand the Green Cross Code, Countryside Code and Water Safety Code.
3. Choose and do one of the following.
- Plan and carry out a treasure hunt or scavenger hunt for your Six and the tester.
- Take part in a mini-hike or orienteering game.
4. Know what precautions you can take against bad weather and being caught in darkness.
5. Make a display or act out a short play about keeping safe when out and about, for example how to be visible after dark or in the fog, stranger danger and so on.
