1921 POR - Musician Badge

Be able to play major and minor scales and arpeggios, and show knowledge of major and minor common chords.
Answer questions on the rudiments of music.
Play accompaniments either for songs or stringed instruments.
(Guides will not be expected to play very difficult accompaniments such as operatic music.)
Play a pianoforte solo approximating to the same standard as: Grillen by Schuman, Playtime Pieces by Cyril Scott, Forgotten Fairy Tales by MacDowell, Danse Negro by Chaminade, Humoresque B by Grieg, Etudes by Debussy.
Play from memory or ear a good march.  (the rhythm and correct rendering will be taken into consideration).
Be able to play a country dance, or sing a national or folk song.

Schumann, Sonatina in G.  Second Movement.  Op. 118.  No. 1.

Twinning, Walter L.  The Sylvan Dell.  No. 2 of "Treasure Island."  (Stainer & Bell.)

Or

Play two violin or violincello pieces approximating to the same standard as above.

Be able to read simple music at sight.

Be able to play country dances, or sing a national or folk song.
