The whole Patrol must be present for the test.
In Guiding the world is divided into five regions: Europe, Western Hemisphere, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Arab Regional Group.
1) Choose and do three of the following activities. Each one should typify a different region of the world.
a) Build a shanty house and tell the tester why and ow a family might live in such a building.
b) Face painting is practiced by people throughout the world. Find out why people paint their faces and have a go yourself.
c) Select a costume typical of another country and tell the tester of any practical reasons for its design. Dress as many of your Patrol as is possible in this type of costume and perhaps these will be homemade or borrowed.
d) Perform for your Guide Company a street theatre play showing one or more aspects of life in a developing country. You could make up your own play from a real life situation.
e) Choose a country and find out what the staple diet is. Explain to the tester any problems this country has in providing its people with nourishing food. Visit your local supermarket to find out what kind of food this country sends to the UK.
2) a) Find out about the Girl Guide Friendship Fund.
b) Discover if there are nay other international projects being organised or supported by the Girl Guides Association at the time of taking the Pennant.
c) Do something to help the Girl Guide Friendship Fund or a Girl Guides Association project.
