1930 POR - Folk Dancer Badge

Hold junior Folk Dancer badge or be prepared to dance any of the dances included in it.

The dancer must be able to perform the following country dances in any place in the set required by the examiner: 

Childgrove, Vol. 4

Chrishchurch Bells, Vol. 3

The Merry, Merry Milkmaids, Vol, 3

Newcastle, Vol, 4

The Old Mole, Vol. 4

Hey, Boys, Up We Go, Vol. 3

The standard of dancing for this badge should be approximately that required by the English Folk Dance Society for their Advanced Country Dance Certificate.  Folk Dances from any recognized national Folk Dance Society's books may be substituted for the above.  Those issued by the Scottish Country Dance Society are published by Paterson and are obtainable from Scottish Headquarters.

1931 POR - Folk Dancer Badge

The Old Mole* (IV), or The Boatman (VI), or Scotch Cap (VI).

Newcastle* (IV), or Oaken Leaves (V), or Hyde Park*

and also four of her own choice from the Coronation Country Dance Book: Galopede, Speed the Plough, The Long Eight, Morpeth Rant, the Norfolk Long Dance, Circassian Circle, The Yorkshire Square Eight.

The dancer will be expected to perform the movements accurately, rhythmically and with due appreciation and enjoyment of the musical and individual character of each dance.  Dances from any recognized National Dance Society's books of any other country may be substituted for the above.  Those issued by the Scottish Country Dance Society are published by Paterson, and are obtainable from Scottish Headquarters.

1938 Edition - Sea Sense (Sea Ranger Handbook) - this badge is available embroidered in blue, for Sea Rangers.

1939 POR - Folk Dancer Badge
