1) Get each member of your Patrol suitably equipped for outdoor expeditions and have a working knowledge of the Highway Code (for pedestrians) and the Country Code.  Get a Guider to check this when you are all ready.

2) Plan and carry out one of the following expeditions:

a) Climb a hill or high building and make sketches of the views.

b) Follow the course of an ancient trackway or river.

c) Beat the bounds of the parish.

d) Visit an historical building or other place or building of interest.

3) Track down the things mentioned in one of the following clauses and bring some evidence of them:

a) Three plaques on house exteriors.

b) Three old trade signs.

c) Three interesting epitaphs or inscriptions on monuments.

d) Three church brasses of historical interest

e) Two sites of archaeological interest.

f) Four interesting buildings from different architectural periods.

g) Four inn signs either of interesting design or origin.

4) Have a day out with your Patrol.  Plan it in advance and afterwards give an account of your expedition.
