1916 (January) Girl Guides' Gazette - Basket-Worker Badge


Must produce an article of basket-work of practical use in either willow, cane, rush, raffia or straw-work made entirely by herself.

Have a general knowledge of the raw material employed, how it is obtained, and how prepared for working.

1920 (March) Girl Guide Badges and How to Win Them 1st edition - Basket Worker Badge

A Girl Guide must have a general knowledge of the raw material used in one or other of the branches covered by the badge.  She must know from where that material has been obtained and how it is prepared for working.  She must produce an article of practical use in either cane, rattan, rush or raffia, made entirely by herself, and be able to explain the difficulties met with in the making of that article.

1921 POR - Basket-Worker Badge


Must produce two different articles of basket-work of practical use in either willow, cane, rush, raffia or straw-work made entirely by herself.

Have a general knowledge of the raw material employed, how it is obtained, and how prepared for working.

1924 POR - Basket-Worker Badge


Must produce two of the following: 

a) Market basket

b) Mat (diameter not less than 6 inches)

c) Workbasket (base not less than 6 inches)
