1973 Brownie Handbook - Agility Badge


1) Show that you can stand, sit, walk, run, jump, and land well.

2) Skip sixty times without a break turning the rope backwards, and skip three fancy steps.

3) Show that you can perform a leap frog.

4) Balance walk along a narrow bench or on flower pots over a distance of 6 metres.

5) Join two of these into a sequence:

a) A forward and backward roll.

b) A shoulder stand.

c) A handstand against a support.

6) Either:

a) Climb up or along a 2 metre rope or pole, or

b) Spring onto a surface (not lower than 75 cms.) using hands to assist, if necessary, and do a strong jump off with complete stretch.  Land well either into any roll or balanced on the feet.

* Make up a one minute aerobic exercise sequence.  Encourage other members of your Six to join in.

* Take part in a three minute aerobic exercise sequence.

4) Follow a training circuit that has three of the following activities.  Do each activity for 15 seconds.

* Sit ups.

* Balancing on one leg.

* Running on the spot.

* Hoppping.

* Press ups.

* Tuck jumps.

5) Using two different balls, throw each ball against a wall ten times using both underarm and overarm throws.  Catch each ball as it bounces back.
